Architects & Engineers

|
As an architect or engineer, you are well aware that both the State and Federal governments have passed legislation that mandate stricter building practices and more sophisticated building materials that insure new buildings will be extremely energy efficient. At the same time, there is an increased awareness among building owners of the many benefits of going green. You probably have had clients ask if solar (photovoltaic) electricity should be incorporated into their new building. Perhaps that is the reason you have visited our website today.
The use of solar electricity began to emerge in the early seventies when people living in rural, off grid situations started to use solar panels to charge batteries to power small appliances and lighting. However, the industry really began to take off in 2002 after the State of California passed Assembly Bill 995 and Senate Bill 1194 which mandated the three investor-owned utilities to support the Energy Commission's Renewable Energy Program. Not only did this result in a dramatic increase in solar installations in the State of California, it triggered other states to start similar programs. Seeing these programs come online and recognizing the growing global energy crisis, the investment community began to pour money into the development of new and more efficient renewable technologies. As a result, the rate of technological change and the number of new products entering the marketplace everyday is overwhelming. As one of the world's leading suppliers of renewable technologies, we constantly monitor technological advances and strive to provide our clients with those products that provide the greatest value, reliability, and aesthetic appeal. For the design community, we are always available to advise you regarding specific project applications and to talk to you about emerging technologies.
